Jeremy had been involved in historic restorations before, in his many years in Vancouver, but the Angry Hen Brewery project was a career-defining effort.

This was the most thorough restoration/addition we’ve ever been a part of.

Very little of the original 1900’s era building in downtown Kaslo was left intact. At one point during construction, three of the four walls were completely removed. A web of temporary framing was installed to hold  up the roof and original facade — all of which was removed by hand, stripped down to stone and mortar supported by a new engineered concrete foundation.. Focusing  on the salvage and renewal of the existing building, and merging the old with the new, we tied the addition in with thoughtful finishing details inside and out. Eisenhauer built the stunning bar top and bar built-ins, plus all the taphouse tables using local Douglas Fir.
